Recently, as four SPMT module vehicles steadily moved a 1,044-ton prestressed continuous box girder onto the beam placement equipment, it marked the successful completion of the main bridge removal project for the Langwang Overpass on the Guangzhou-Zhuhai Section Expansion Project, which was undertaken by our company. The project was completed 4 hours ahead of schedule, laying a solid foundation for subsequent traffic conversion and mainline connectivity.

The main bridge of the Langwang Crossline Bridge is a 27+27 prestressed concrete cast-in-place box girder, with a width of 12 meters and a girder height of 1.3 meters. This is the longest girder body in Guangdong Province's expressways to date, which uses four SPMT module vehicles for the overall removal of two spans. The entire process, from vehicle positioning to girder transportation, took only about 4 hours, saving at least 75% of the time compared to traditional blasting methods, minimizing the impact on social traffic.
This demolition operation can be described as a "multi-dimensional game" against time, technology, and risk. Unlike traditional single-span bridge relocation, this project innovatively achieved the simultaneous relocation of two spans. Within the narrow construction area, not only must the self-weight of the girder be considered, but also the adverse effects caused by prestress loads. Moreover, within this confined space, there are two new piers and two old bridge piers, with each module truck having a lateral movement range of less than 25 cm. This places extremely stringent demands on the synchronization and precision of the module trucks, as well as the on-site judgment, control capabilities, and teamwork of the operating engineers.
Faced with multiple challenges such as tight schedules, complex technology, high risk factors, and significant public attention, the Yongjie Equipment team made scientific judgments and implemented precise measures. At 9:30 PM, four SPMT module vehicles accurately drove into the designated position under the bridge, synchronously lifting the girder through the hydraulic system. By around 1:45 AM, the girder was smoothly placed on the beam storage equipment at the beam storage yard. The entire operation process was like building with blocks, precise, efficient, safe, orderly, and environmentally friendly.
The successful removal of the main bridge of the Langwang Crossline Bridge, which is a 54-meter-long prestressed concrete cast-in-place box girder, marks another milestone in Yongjie Equipment's technological innovation in bridge demolition. In the future, Yongjie will continue to safeguard transportation construction with its core equipment and professional team, setting new industry standards with its strength!
