First in China! Yongjie Equipment Completes Roll-on Roll-off of Type A LPG Tank for Ultra-large FLNG Project

Recently, the A-type LPG liquid cargo tank of FLNG project carried by Jiangsu Yongjie Special Equipment Co., Ltd. was successfully rolled on board the ship. The A-type liquid cargo tank of FLNG project carried this time is not only the first one in China, but also the largest one in volume in China at present, which once again demonstrates Yongjie's professional strength in transporting large cargoes and its ability of service guarantee.

Type A LPG liquid cargo tank is 22 metres long, 45 metres wide and 31 metres high, which is specially designed for loading liquefied petroleum gas, with a structural weight of about 1,600 tonnes for a single LPG storage tank and a total volume of about 23,220 m³, and it is a very strict requirement for the transport of this "behemoth" to be rolled on board the ship.

In order to ensure the smooth implementation of the project, the project team of Yongjie Equipment carried out detailed research and careful assessment of the transport routes, environment and transport safety risk factors, and made precise calculations for each step, from weighing to on-site transfer to ro-ro loading on board the ship and formulated the corresponding supporting schemes and contingency plans to ensure that the whole process was flawless.

The transport task used more than 100 axles of self-propelled modular transporters, and the ro-ro loading process required great patience and skilled experience, with strict requirements on wind, tide, barge attitude and ro-ro loading speed on the day. In order to seize the favourable time for ro-ro loading, the project team accurately calculated the rate of high and low tides and the optimal ro-ro loading time on the operation day, which ensured that the A-type LPG tanks were loaded onto the vessel on time and without any errors.
