The mode of transportation of engineering logistics

The transportation of engineering logistics mainly adopts four modes of transportation: railway, road, water transport and aviation. Generally speaking, whenever possible, for long-distance transportation as far as possible rail and water, short-distance use of road, time urgent consideration of the choice of air transportation, which is determined by the characteristics of various modes of transport.
(1) Road transport
Road transport can carry all kinds of extra-large items, extra heavy parts, extra long parts and ultra-high and ultra-wide parts, and generally the three-level highway can meet the traffic requirements of the heavy cargo fleet. Highway operation is flexible and easy to command, can implement the whole process of on-site monitoring, reinforcement at any time if there is a problem, can implement "door-to-door" service, but large transportation due to the wheel density of the vehicle group, many axles, large axle load, and because of the extremely slow running speed of large flat trucks (generally 3~5km/h), seriously affecting the normal order of traffic along the line; When the weight exceeds the design bearing capacity of roads and bridges, reinforcement treatment is also carried out, which aggravates traffic congestion, so only short-distance transportation or small-scale materials are considered for road transportation.
(2) Railway transportation
Because the railway is a dedicated line, it is the safest and smoothest mode of transportation, and the main advantage is that it is not affected by the climate, and it can go deep inland to achieve long-distance on-time transportation of goods. However, due to the construction boundaries of the railway, the load of the bridge and the class of the vehicle, there are strict requirements for the size of the cargo. In addition, due to the specificity of the railway, it is difficult to achieve "door-to-door" service, and it is generally necessary for the car to reverse the load to complete the whole transportation.
(3) Water transportation
Compared to land transportation, water transportation not only has the least weight and size restrictions on heavy items, but also economical. At present, the transportation of domestic and international oversized items basically adopts water transportation.
(4) Multimodal transport
Multimodal transport was born and developed on the basis of container transportation and is a higher organizational form of cargo transportation.
